Wheelchairs, white canes, hearing aids—these are all obvious indicators that a library user may need some type of accommodation to be able to use your computer lab. However, there is a much larger population that can benefit from assistive technology as well, including people with repetitive strain injuries, children with learning differences, Boomers/seniors, and individuals with temporary disabilities. This presentation will cover the likely needs of these users and discuss ways to accommodate them without either impinging on the rights of individuals with more extreme disabilities or breaking the budget.
