Knowing how to use the Internet is one thing, but training the public is another. All new trainers encounter the same pitfalls -- not enough time, easily sidetracked, the need for handouts or Internet resources specifically for new learners. A little practice goes a long way toward solving these problems, and that's just what you'll get in this Infopeople workshop.
Workshop Description:
This all-day workshop includes hands-on
practice training in pairs to help you
overcome the common training roadblocks.
Packets will include "cheat sheets" to be
used as models for materials to be
prepared and made available at the public
access workstations.

- Brief overview of using PowerPoint as a tool for instructors
Who should attend: Anyone who needs to teach the public how to use the Internet in a library setting.
Prerequisites: Those attending should be:
- Comfortable using a mouse
- Able to navigate the web using URLs, browser menus, and toolbars
- Familiar with basic web terminology and web searching
