Kelli Ham
Kelli Ham has over twelve years of experience working in corporate, public and biomedical libraries. Since May 2005, Kelli has been the Consumer Health Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM), Pacific Southwest Region (PSR), based at the UCLA Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. She is responsible for planning and coordinating consumer health programs and activities for public libraries and community-based organizations in the Region. Outreach activities focus on meeting the health information needs of the diverse population groups in the Pacific Southwest Region.
Ms. Ham builds partnerships with public libraries and other organizations for health topic awareness programs and health fairs, such as the successful Bone & Joint Decade programs for osteoporosis awareness in October 2005. Additionally, she makes presentations and provides demonstrations at library professional meetings on resources such as MedlinePlus, NIHSeniorHealth, ClinicalTrials.gov, and other National Library of Medicine and NN/LM products and services. Whether it is guidance on setting up a Consumer Health library, providing training, help with collection development or health topic programming, Kelli strives to help librarians and health care professionals in their efforts to provide health information to consumers that is appropriate, accessible, and understandable.
Prior to joining NN/LM PSR, Kelli provided reference services at a busy public library in Thousand Oaks, California. Prior to that, she managed a corporate information center in Santa Monica, California. Kelli has a BA degree in Linguistics from UC Davis (1993), and she earned her MLIS degree from UCLA in 1995.
