Susan Barb

Susan Barb is a librarian with more than 20 years of experience. She recently left public libraries to start BarbWired Information Services, a consulting firm. She is focusing on providing education and training to library and information professionals in the area of information technology. Prior to establishing BarbWired, she was Senior Librarian for Orange Public Library in California. Over her fourteen years with the library, she worked in almost every aspect of library service, ending as the supervisor for Information Technology Services and Children's Services.

Currently she is the Reference Staff Supervisor for the 24/7 Reference Project coordinated by the Metropolitan Cooperative Library Service, a virtual reference service. She provides web-based and on-site training to project participants. She oversees the recruiting and scheduling of staff for the project and oversees quality control for the project. She is also a frequent trainer for the Infopeople Project.

She is a member of the American Library Association, the Public Library Association, and the Library Information and Technology Association. She received her MLS from UCLA with a specialization in Information Science.
