Enid Berman

Enid Berman has over twenty years experience in the fields of management and training. As a consultant to management and a trainer, she has focused her energies on the issues that are causing the greatest challenge for her client organizations: on-going change, communication difficulties in the workplace, intergenerational impact, violence prevention, and conflict resolution.

As an organizational development consultant, Enid conducts needs assessments and cultural audits, and develops and delivers interventions designed to address real issues in the workplace. In addition, she is a popular trainer, public speaker, and curriculum designer. She has designed numerous workshops for national training organizations.

Her background includes extensive work with young adults, as the Director of Planned Parenthood in San Francisco, and her on-going work with the Institute On Aging in San Francisco. Intergenerational communication is the basis for her work in both arenas.

Her most recent Library experience includes consulting with the San Jose Library on Dealing with Changes in the System, from technology to intergenerational issues. Enid has worked with individual branches (Evergreen, Seventrees, Calabazas, Alviso and Hillview) on the Innovation Branch Service Program. She has assisted both staff and management with the human side of change; e.g., how to move people from point "A" to point "B" without a tremendous loss of productivity and increased stress. This work has as its basis, the acknowledgement of diverse perspectives based on life experiences. She's also worked with Biblioteca on dealing with "safety in the workplace" pertaining to decreasing the threats posed by gang violence. Other libraries include the Redwood City Library, and through the Rural Initiative, she's conducted videoconferences and live webcasts for Venture, Modesto, Eureka, San Luis Obispo and Calexico. In addition she spoke at the Annual Workshop for Library Paraprofessionals and Support Staff and conducted a Stress/Time Management workshop for the TeensReach program.
