I have 20 years of public library experience, thirteen of those with the Los Angeles Public Library. The majority of those years were spent in the Business & Economics Department as reference librarian. I gained my teaching experience the hard way, by trial and error, and it ranges from presenting a two day seminar on Effective Reference Service to my fellow librarians to teaching students and the general public the use of online databases to business resources presentations in front of professional groups such as a Glasser LegalWorks seminar for law librarians.
As the adoring grandmother of a three-year-old, I decided to retire from LAPL last year to allow for some quality time and now work two days a week at Los Angeles City College in reference and bibliographic instruction. I love to sew, garden, travel and bike, not necessarily in that order.
