Susan Hildreth, the newly appointed California State Librarian, will be a featured speaker at the fall CALTAC workshop. The workshop, "Get Real! Helping Libraries Survive and Thrive in Turbulent Times," will be held on September 24-25 at the Cerritios Library. Other speakers will include Infopeople trainers Joan Frye Williams and Roberta Perry, and the event is being coordinated by Infopeople trainer Gail McGovern. Although there is extensive Infopeople involvement, this is not an Infopeople workshop, but is supported by an LSTA grant awarded to the clioinstitute, a program of the Cerritos Library. Detailed information about the conference is available on the clioinstitute website. Registration is open to all California library trustees, commissioners, and cooperative system advisory board members, with a deadline of September 1. The LSTA funding covers lodging and meals and provides transportation reimbursement.
