Today's libraries serve an extremely broad cross section of our population. And while the vast majority of library patrons are pleasant and cooperative, a certain percentage is often a challenge.
One of the most effective ways that we can create happy, productive libraries is by improving librarians' (individually and as a staff) ability to set boundaries. Unfortunately, as many who work on the front lines of our libraries know, setting boundaries is often easier said than done.
