With 30 years in public libraries and 12 years in library management, Debra specializes in change management for staff and leadership teams and workplace and personal resilience. Most recently the manager of a group of 6 branch libraries in a busy, urban system, Debra came to libraries after a career as a professional sign language interpreter. Before that, she worked for the Boy Scouts of America, oversaw maintenance of a 20-truck rental fleet and sold linens & gift wrap services at a major retail chain, so she brings a broad spectrum of experience to her presentations. In her free time, she’s learning to play the ukulele and hopes to someday master both the rhumba strum and a B-flat chord. Debra’s classes are known for their accessibility. She presents with warmth & humor and is able to examine topics related to personal growth and development with respect & compassion.
