Jennifer has over 12 years of nonprofit management experience including nine years experience working directly with volunteers. She has worked to develop, manage, and revitalize volunteer programs for small, grassroots nonprofits. She’s managed programs with both traditional and ‘new model’ volunteers, and she’s a strong believer that the most successful volunteer programs are flexible and engage all styles of volunteers.
Her current work at VolunteerMatch involves managing the organizations volunteer program and creating best practices for the volunteer managers using the site. She is synthesizing research and lessons learned from a wide range of volunteer programs, research done by VolunteerMatch, and similar research done by other organizations.
She is creating resources and trainings for volunteer managers to help them successful integrate older adult and Boomer volunteers into their existing volunteer programs, with an emphasis on engaging more skilled volunteers to help facilitate the transition from a traditional model volunteer program to a new model program.
She is currently participating in The Conference Board first nonprofit research working group on Managing an Aging Workforce at Nonprofits.
