Laura Wiedeman, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist within the PTSD Clinical Team at the Northern California VA Health Care System. Dr. Wiedeman specializes in providing recovery-oriented, evidence-based treatments to veterans with PTSD. She currently serves as the coordinator for PTSD services delivered via telemental health, increasing access to PTSD services for veterans located at VA clinics without specialty PTSD treatment and for veterans who prefer to receive care from their home. Dr. Wiedeman previously served as the PTSD-Substance Use Disorder specialist at the Hines VA Hospital in suburban Chicago, where she completed her pre-doctoral internship. She is a VA provider in Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, has extensive experience with PTSD assessment, and is very involved in the training of doctoral and postdoctoral trainees. In addition, she has served as a therapist and investigator on multiple clinical research studies related to PTSD treatment effectiveness. Dr. Wiedeman received her master’s in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy and doctorate in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University.
