Here's a fun thing to do while you're on the road: math! Check out Road Sign Math . The site is a collection of pictures of road signs with mile totals that add up to real numbers. You'll find lots of basic math (addition and subtraction), and then there is also more advanced stuff like squares. You can contribute as well - when you find a sign, take a picture of it and submit it to them. Cool! If only I were better at math. We'd be driving by the signs and I'd still be counting on my fingers, most likely saying, "wait, wait' I'm not done!" And then there's the added complication of having to take a picture as well... So maybe I'll just stick to looking at the website.
Tip o' the beanie to ResearchBuzz for the link.
