Census 2010 is coming!
Over the next few weeks, all households in California will receive the 2010 Census form. As a beacon of community, democracy, and information, California librarians are trusted voices to provide basic information to communities that the Census is easy, safe, and important.
The California Complete Count effort, with state librarian Stacy Aldrich, will answer your questions about the importance of the decennial census for communities throughout California. April 1st 2010 is the one day this decade where the people living in California can take action to make sure California receives its fair share of over $400 BILLION dollars distributed to the states every YEAR.

Filling out the census form completely and accurately has a profound effect on government programs that are in communities throughout California. Census data determines the distribution of billions of dollars every year spent on local programs such as job training centers, senior and daycare centers, transportation projects. Each member of community benefits from an accurate census count.
