Infopeople produces original podcasts from George and Joan (George Needham and Joan Frye Williams), Michaal Cart, and other presenters. Topics range from book and graphic novel reviews to the future of libraries.
In this podcast George and Joan put on their futurist hats and ponder the question, "How would a library accommodate a post-print culture in the future?" Is a library without books still be a library? What defines a library? Is it the books and materials that make the library, or is it something more ephemeral? Join the discussion!
This podcast idea came about as a result of consulting work George and Joan recently did in Northern California. The library system they were working with was at risk of closure due to county budget issues. As they worked, George and Joan started to ponder what services MUST remain for a library to still be a library. What do you think?
