Vendor product recommendation policy

Infopeople has a well-established policy for presenters regarding vendor products and services. Simply, presenters may not recommend a particular product or service. Rather, they are required to give an overview of several options and allow audience members to make their own decisions based on their particular circumstances. This is particularly important because Infopeople is an IMLS/LSTA grant-funded organization and dedicated to presenting information in an impartial manner. This same policy also applies to vendors in the audience of an Infopeople webinar. If vendors attending an Infopeople webinar begin to promote their products/services, one of our Producers will begin a private chat with them and indicate they are in violation of Infopeople policy, and to refrain from continuing. If they continue to post promotional information, we reserve the right to remove them from the presentation.
