Virginia Walter may have retired from the UCLA Information Studies Department, but she is still active in the field. She continues to teach the popular Children’s Literature course at UCLA and carries on an active career as a consultant and trainer. She has evaluated youth development and librarian recruitment initiatives at the Free Library of Philadelphia for more than ten years and is currently involved in outcome evaluation for California’s Summer Reading Program and the State Library’s Family Place grant.
Ginny is a Past President of the Association of Library Service for Children and the California Society of Librarians. (Are any of you old enough to remember that CLA structure?) Her MLIS degree is from the University of California, Berkeley; and she also holds a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Southern California
