Kelly Stade is a Senior Librarian at Hennepin County Library, the largest public library system in Minnesota. In her library career Kelly has worked to develop early literacy services, advocating for the role that libraries play in educating parents and preparing children to be ready to read. Kelly has worked extensively on early literacy environments in libraries, including creating Play and Learn Spots for the Minneapolis Public Library system, collaborating on a partnership between Minnesota metro libraries and the Minnesota Children's Museum to bring interactive play environments to libraries, and presenting at the Early Literacy Environments: Creating Educational Spaces in Public Libraries, 2008 Public Library Association Conference Pre-Conference. Kelly has most recently led an initiative to bring early literacy technology to Hennepin County Library.
