Adrienne Almeida, MA-TESOL, MLIS is the Director of Middle School and Upper School Library Services at Friends Seminary in New York City. After working for the New York City Department of Education for over twenty years as an ENL teacher, staff developer, and de facto librarian, she transitioned to full time school librarian. Additionally, Adrienne has been an adjunct professor at Hunter College’s School of Education for 10 years specifically focused on new and aspiring teachers developing community with their students. Adrienne is passionate about finding and fostering the “just right” professional learning networks that productively support the work of her library program and her responsive collection development. She has found joy during quarantine by pairing YA audiobooks with masked Pokemon Go walks and attempting new recipes.
