Courtney Breese is Executive Director of the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD), a network of 700 individuals and organizations who bring people together across divides to discuss, decide, and act together effectively on today’s toughest issues. She works with organizations and individuals inside and outside this community of practice to help broaden the publics’ understanding of and interest in conversations that matter. Most recently, Courtney and NCDD have provided trainings to library workers in partnership with the American Library Association.

Courtney is an experienced facilitation, mediation, and public engagement practitioner. She has a passion for helping people make connections, communicate more effectively, and make decisions collaboratively. She enjoys examining systems and structures and working to improve society on a macro level. 

She has a B.A. in Social Work and Counseling from Franklin Pierce University, where she first learned to facilitate conversations.
