Grace was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and immigrated to Whittier, California in 1961. She began her library career with the San Diego County Library System in 1980, working in various departments, with an emphasis on bilingual services and outreach. In 1982, she began working for the Oceanside Public Library, where today she is the Youth Services Manager. In 1991, she was one of 12 librarians selected to attend the White House Conference on Library and Information Services, giving her a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with libraries from around the country. Grace has served as an independent consultant for the California State Library on several grant programs including Cultural Crossroads, Joint Ventures and currently is working with the California of the Past-Digital Story Station grant throughout the State. Preserving family and community history and stories for posterity is one of her passions.
