Joe Eshleman received his Master of Library and Information Studies degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2007. He is currently Librarian Senior at Central Piedmont Community College. Previously he was Head of Reference at Johnson & Wales University Providence and was the Instruction Librarian at Johnson & Wales University Library-Charlotte 2008-2015. During this time, he taught numerous library instruction sessions. He completed the Association of College & Research Libraries' Immersion program in 2009. This program is an intensive program of training and education for instruction librarians. He has presented on numerous occasions including at the American Library Association Conference, the Lilly Education Conference, the North Carolina Library Association Conference, and the Teaching Professor Technology Conference.  Mr. Eshleman is co-author of Cultivating Civility: Practical Ways to Improve a Dysfunctional Library (2020), The Dysfunctional Library: Challenges and Solutions to Workplace Relationships (2018), The Mindful Librarian: Connecting the Practice of Mindfulness to Librarianship (2016), Working and Networking: Librarian and Instructional Technologist Collaborations (2016), Fundamentals for the Academic Liaison (2014) and The Personal Librarian: Enhancing the Student Experience (2014).
