K.T. Lam is an experienced systems librarian and IT professional. He was the associate university librarian at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Library and was in charge of its systems and digital services before leaving the University in 2022. He is an expert in library linked data. He began involvement in linked data in 2010 when he introduced RDF to the Library's next-generation library catalog. More recently, he added linked data capability to HKUST's institutional repository using Schema.org, established knowledge card in the Library's Primo information discovery platform through Wikidata querying, built a digital scholarship repository natively with linked data, and added linked data services to HKCAN (a repository of Chinese name entities) so that academic universities in Hong Kong can use its URIs for authority control. He also served as a member of the ELUNA/IGeLU Linked Open Data Community of Practice Working Group in 2016-2021. He is currently developing linked data and BIBFRAME capability for the Integrated Library System (known as SLS) that he founded in 1991 for school and small libraries.
