Laurel Johnson (she/ her/ hers) is the young adult services supervisor at Skokie Public Library and has served on SPL’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee for two years. As the Young Adult Library Services Association’s 2017 Emerging Leader, she worked on a project with ALA’s Office of Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services. In 2020, Laurel was named the Illinois Young Adult Librarian of the Year. She has presented on equity, diversity and inclusion staff development as well as restorative justice practices in young adult library services.
