Renee Grassi considers herself an advocate and ally for equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility work in libraries. In 2012, she was named Library Journal Mover & Shaker for her work creating inclusive programming for people with autism and other disabilities and has presented nationally and internationally on this topic. After nearly 10 years working in Illinois public libraries, Renee relocated to Minnesota, where she is now Youth Services Manager at Dakota County Library overseeing programs and services for youth and families across the system’s nine library locations. Renee was also the chair of her library’s Accessibility Team and managed the implementation of her library’s $100,000 two-year Disability Services Innovations Grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
